10/08/2018 | NWPS Commissions a New Security Checkpoint to Control Access to the Oleniy Ruchey Mine Site

NWPC opened an upgraded security checkpoint at the Oleniy Ruchey mine site as part of its anti-terrorist and health and safety compliance strategy.

The new computer-assisted facility is equipped with access control devices to prevent trespassing and unauthorized access by people and vehicles. The checkpoint has six turnstiles equipped with breathalysers.

NWPC launched the first stage of its access control and alcohol testing system in summer 2016. The primary function of the system is to ensure compliance with industrial safety requirements for hazardous facilities and good mining and mineral processing practices.

By moving the breathalysers to the security gates, the Company can identify workers under the influence of alcohol before they enter the premises, thereby shortening inspection time and cutting maintenance costs. The upgraded security checkpoint has a sufficient number of turnstiles for quick handling as workers arrive on-site.

In order to ensure uninterrupted access control, the checkpoint building has a duty room for security personnel and guards, who possess all necessary security, communication and alarm devices.
