09/10/2018 | NWPC Supports Creation of Regional Service Centre in the Murmansk Region

North-Western Phosphorous Company representatives took part in a workshop that laid the groundwork to establish a regional service centre for repairing mining and processing equipment in Kirovsk. The meeting was headed by Marina Kovtun, Governor of Murmansk region. Local mining companies have a growing need for equipment maintenance as they increasingly use new equipment for underground mining.

A regional service centre would benefit the local, regional and federal tax bases, and the project has already been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

Service companies from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Karelia and Belarus would have a presence in Murmansk region, with the centre’s management coordinating their work.

“NWPC supports this project,” said NWPC CEO Vadim Ryazantsev. “Even though the Company has its own modern service centre for maintaining mining equipment, we are primarily interested in repairing large mining and processing equipment locally, instead of transporting it out of the region for repairs. NWPC is willing to consider tendering with local companies to obtain better terms, repair costs and operational control”.
