Roman Dudka, Deputy Chief of the Northwestern Branch of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor), visited the Oleniy Ruchey mine of North-Western Phosphorous Company (a member of Acron Group) to inspect the ongoing construction of the Company’s key facilities.
NWPC CEO Yevgeny Sozinov and Chief Engineer Aleksey Braunstein gave Mr Dudka a tour of the mine, showing him the crushing and conveying system 3, installed at a depth of 140 metres, and the ventilation and heating unit 2 (VHU 2), which effectively and safely ventilates the mine. The NWPC managers briefed the inspector on all the construction stages, as well as on the equipment and safety measures.
Mr Dudka was satisfied with the construction progress and work organisation at the inspected facilities. He welcomed the timely commissioning of the VHU 2, which was crucial for ensuring the safety of underground operations, and noted NWPC’s commitment to industrial safety and compliance with the national safety regulations.
In October 2024, NWPC connected the haulage drift to the auxiliary shaft at the Oleniy Ruchey mine. One of the key purposes of this engineering solution is to supply air to the underground mine using the ventilation and heating unit 2. This will allow to increase the mine capacity to 6 mtpa of ore. The haulage drift will be used to transport personnel to and from the underground mine, as well as to deliver materials for mining operations.
