08.08.2025
North-Western Phosphorous Company (NWPC), a member of Acron Group, commissioned the main fan unit No. 2 (MFU No. 2) at the Oleniy Ruchey mine. Investments in this important facility exceeded RUB 1 billion (over USD 12.5 million).

The unit with fresh air supply capacity of approximately 500 m3/s provides underground ventilation during the operation of the second stage of the underground mine. The MFU uses reversible axial single-stage fans, with the fan and heater units located in the same facility and designed to supply the underground mine with fresh air at a specific temperature, ensuring the safety and comfort of miners. A separate haulage tunnel was excavated at a depth of 100 metres to operate the MFU.

Commissioning of the MFU No. 2 enable the mine to increase capacity to 6 million tonnes of ore per year, ensure the hoisting of mining personnel and materials, as well as provide for a temporary mine drainage system for further mining operations at lower levels until the main drainage complex is launched 200 metres below ground.

‘This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of North-Western Phosphorous Company, our mining asset. Since the start of the development of the Oleniy Ruchey deposit, we mined over 65 million tonnes of ore and produced over 14 million tonnes of apatite concentrate. In 2025, the Company plans to increase ore mining and apatite concentrate production to 6 million tonnes per year and 1.5 million tonnes per year respectively. Since the beginning of construction, investments in the Oleniy Ruchey project have already amounted to RUB 60 billion (approximately USD 750 million), and in 2025, investments will reach RUB 4 billion (approximately USD 50 million).’
