On 19 June, the Apatity central stadium hosted the summer sports event organised by North-Western Phosphorous Company for its employees and family members. Teams represented each of the Company’s production areas: Management, Mine, Open Pit, Technicians, and Factory. Additional teams were made up of workers from different business units.
The participants chose from a variety of sports: tug-of-war, beach volleyball, yukigassen (competitive summer snowball-fighting), indoor soccer, running, individual competition and relay race. Children enjoyed races and face painting.
“I am confident that this summer sports event will become a tradition because it gives all employees and their families a great opportunity to have fun while doing something good for their health. The main goal of events like this is to promote healthy lifestyles and solidarity”, said NWPC CEO Yevgeny Sozinov.
