NWPC — «North-Western Phosphorous Company».

About Us

North-Western Phosphorous Company (NWPC) was founded by Acron in 2005 to create a new phosphate raw materials base in Murmansk region. Developing a phosphate deposit to supply its downstream facilities with the raw materials required for production of phosphorous-containing fertilisers is the foremost priority of Acron Group’s investment program.

In October 2006, NWPC won the tender held by Russian Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency and, in November of the same year, obtained a license to develop the Oleniy Ruchey and Partomchorr apatite-nepheline ores deposits.

In 2007-2008, the Giproruda Engineering Institute (St. Petersburg) completed the Oleniy Ruchey apatite-nepheline ore deposit mining and processing industrial complex construction project. On September 30, 2008, the project was approved by Glavgosekspertiza of Russia. On October 24, 2008, NWPC received the MPC building license.

Construction of the mining enterprise infrastructure began in late 2008, with the complex’s first commission planned for 2012 and the second for 2018. The MPC has a design capacity of 1.9 million tons of apatite and 1.8 million tons of nepheline concentrates per year.
